UVF 08 – GOLGOTA – FLOR DE CARNE – More self-therapy and experimental performance art than a conventional narrative film. A deeply personal exploration of trauma by Mexican filmmaker Xochitl Espinoza Flores, who, with the support of Spanish extreme artist Mikel Balerdi, confronts and exorcises the demons of her past through cinema. A woman descends into her own personal hell to confront trauma, violence, and memory. Through visceral imagery and dark poetry, this raw and intimate film explores the boundaries of pain, desire, and the urgent need for healing.
